Riding Edmonton.
The local rules
Alberta 'power bicycle' rules apply (≤500 W, cutoff 32 km/h, operable pedals, age 12+, helmet required). Edmonton uses a reasonable-speed standard on shared paths rather than a posted limit; a bell is mandatory, signal before passing, and sidewalk riding is barred for riders 17+.

No active municipal or provincial purchase rebate for Edmonton residents right now — when one opens, it will appear here.
How it rides
Standout asset is the 150+ km River Valley multi-use trail network along the North Saskatchewan River — the largest connected urban parkland in Canada — linked downtown by bridges and a funicular, plus a growing protected bike-lane grid.
